Understanding and navigating the anti-DEI campaign

Where did these attacks on DEI originate?
How can I proceed without stepping in a trap?
DEI has been politicized--does that mean it's partisan?
This seminar will answer these questions and more. Researcher Ali Michael, PhD, will introduce educators to the history of the anti-DEI campaign so that they can recognize and intervene with the campaign, in whatever form it might manifest in their schools. We will then work collaboratively to differentiate between “good faith critiques” of DEI from politically motivated attacks. Finally, the workshop will help participants understand the purpose behind DEI so that they can take active steps towards evolving their own schools' unique programming. Participants will benefit from the intimate size of the session, and the time to brainstorm with other educators.
